Beechcroft takes pride in selecting the best locations for its exclusive retirement communities – and it’s always satisfying when this is confirmed by homebuyers
A recent survey by Removal Quote specialists, Compare My Move, has put St Albans in the top three ‘Best Countryside Locations To Relocate To* and Beechcroft’s customers would certainly agree.
Based on the quality of life, the survey focused on villages and towns across England and Wales. St Albans takes second place, being described as ‘a beautiful cathedral city with a rich history’ with plenty of reminders of the city’s Roman past.’
Beechcroft’s Maryland Place in St Albans has certainly proved popular with mature homebuyers – particularly over the last few months when an increasing number of independent over 55s are beginning to realise the benefits of owning an elegant, spacious house or apartment on a beautifully-maintained retirement development.
Located on Townsend Drive, within easy reach of the city centre, Maryland Place comprises a collection of 35 newly built homes, set within beautifully landscaped fully maintained communal grounds. Each energy-efficient, easily-maintained new home has been designed according to Beechcroft’s principle of creating homes with generously proportioned living space but with fewer bedrooms than one would expect in a mainstream property of a similar size. The fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality and the majority of homes provide a private terrace, balcony, garden – or a combination of these. Private gardens, as well as the landscaped settings, are maintained by the on-site Estate Manager.
“Over the past few months, priorities for homebuyers have changed considerably. Location will always be important but ‘space’ is equally important. People are looking for homes that provide plenty of living space along with a terrace, balcony or private garden as well as attractive communal grounds”
, Sales & Marketing Director
Having a supportive community of like-minded people has also become a ‘must’ for home buyers over the age of 55 - and it’s a definite bonus to have an Estate Manager on site to handle the day-to-day administration of the development, organise the gardening of both communal grounds and private gardens and to be on hand to offer help and advice.”
A selection of houses and apartments are currently available at Maryland Place. Prices start from £775,000 for a spacious two-bedroom apartment with a private balcony overlooking the communal gardens and from £799,950 for a three-bedroom house with a sunroom, terrace and private garden.
